Rev. Tuan Nguyen, D.D., Pastor

Dear Families:

A big welcome to all of the students enrolled in our Visitation Catholic School, and to the parents thank you for your continued support of our school.

I would like to share a little of myself, so that you are able to know me a little better. I arrived in the United States in 1981 with my older brother and was later ordained by Archbishop Thomas Murphy on June 13th 1992 at St. James' Cathedral, Seattle.

After my ordination, I served the parishes of Vancouver and Bothell, before being assigned as Pastor of St. Joseph's Parish, Chehalis and St. Mary's Parish, Centralia in 1995. In 1997, I was also a Pastor for the parishes of St. Joseph's, Pe Ell; St. Francis, Toledo; Sacred Heart, Winlock and Holy Family, Frances. I was also the Spiritual Leader for the Hispanic Catholic Community in Lewis County and the Vietnamese Catholic Community in Olympia.

Throughout my seminarian years and continued education, I have obtained the following degrees and certificates:

  • B.A. Liberal Arts, minor in Philosophy, May 3rd 1987 at Mount Angel Seminary, Oregon.
  • Master of Divinity, May 3rd 1992 at Mount Angel Seminary, Oregon
  • Certificate of Spiritual Director for Priest from the Archdiocese of Seattle in 1997
  • Certificate for Bilingual Pastor from the Archdiocese of Seattle in 1998
  • Certificate of Pastoral Leadership from Seattle University on June 30th 2004
  • Doctor of Ministry with the Dissertation on "Many Cultures One Calling: Claiming the Gifts and Exploring the Challenges of the Vietnamese Roman Catholic Priests in the Archdiocese of Seattle" on May 20th 2006 from San Francisco Theological Seminary or GTU.

I hope that this helps for you to know a little about me. I am looking forward to journeying with you as we guide and teach your children about our Faith. May our Lord continue to bless upon you and your family.

Sincerely, yours in Christ,

Fr. Tuan Nguyen, Pastor
