The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Church of the Visitation has been an active part of the South Tacoma community for many years.

Visitation had been under the pastorate of the Benedictine Fathers since 1892, although the beautiful Gothic church only found its current home at 58th and Warner in 1912. Bishop Edward J. O'Dea dedicated the new building on June 15, 1913.

Today, Visitation is still active in the community. Outreach programs and groups include the food bank, Knights of Columbus, Phoenix Housing Network, Women's Club, needs-based assisstance, and many other programs.

In July of 2006, Visitation Parish became part of a Pastoral Region including three other parishes in South Tacoma and Midland:

While Visitation Catholic School has always served students and their families from other parishes (or no parish at all), we strongly believe that with our addition to this Pastoral Region, our mission has expanded.

In-parish tuition rates are now available to all parishioners of our Pastoral Region. We continue to offer in-parish rates to all military families as well.
